RIM opens the first Asian Blackberry Lifestyle Store in Bangkok, Thailand and partnered with Jay Mart. This store is hopefully will boost Blackberry’s market share in Thailand. Blackberry is still a power brand in Asia, that’s including Thailand, Philipines, and not to forget, Indonesia.

“Thailand is one of the top two strategic countries alongside Indonesia where we aim to boost market share,” said Rohilesh Singh, senior director for retail strategy of RIM East Asia.

“Bangkok is the best location for a global brand retail shop.”

“This concept store will educate users about our technology,” he said, adding RIM would explore opportunities to expand its retail shops in various models.

“Unlike the past nine months when Nokia dominated in first place, Android-based phones and BlackBerry have moved up fast.”
