RIM Launched Wi-Fi Geolocation Service

RIM officially Launched Wi-Fi Geolocation Service on September 9, this service allow the usage of Wi-Fi Access Point by Blackberry Smartphone to provide accurate location fix to location aware application globally. This service is further enhancement to Cell-site geolocation service.

RIM stated that Wi-Fi Gelocation service offers faster and move convenient way for developers to get location fixes over secure connection with minimum bandwidth usage.
