RIM launched Blackberry Management Center
Research in Motion (RIM) launched free online service for small businesses to help them manage Blackberry Smartphones and provide protection for business content saved on the devices. This free service, Blackberry Management Center is cloud based, as an alternative for Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES). BES is being used by large companies and need both server hardware and software to be installed, while Blackberry Management Center not need both of them. However, the management center only can handle up to 100 Blackberry Smartphones and can accesss email from provider or use web-based email services such as Gmail, Yahoo, or Hotmail.
This service also offers automatic wireless backups for the devices daily, weekly or even monthly to prevent data loss, and not just that, it’s also provides remote locking of the device in case it’s stolen or lost. It also supports remote wipe, which enables you to wipe the device wirelessly if needed and also including wiping the microSD card.
If the device is lost or stolen, before you remotely wipe you data, you can also remotely turn on the ring tone, locking it and display messages on the Blackberrys screen that the device is lost, and when you change device to newer device, you can also use Blackberry Management Center to restore data and device setting to you new device.
The page for this product should be in this link, but seems like it’s taken down by RIM, I ‘ll updated again when the page is up and running
