Blackberry Colt with QNX based OS Revealed

| August 8, 2011 | 0 Comments

BGR get the leak of Blackberry Colt with QNX based OS, it said that RIM is currently testing the device right now with still 1GHz single core processor although the device probably can come with dual core processsor, or maybe first release is going to be single core then it will be dual core at second release, if we talk about business strategy it’s normal.
However the Blackberry Colt now doesn’t have native email, it seems RIM find it hard to rewrite its BES code to support QNX based OS, as you can see even right now Playbook doesn’t have native email. But, RIM is currently working on QNX specific Blackberry Enterprise Server, and if companies want to use Microsoft Exchange Email on the device, they will actually have to use icrosoft Active Sync.
RIM is currently aiming to release Blackberry Colt in the first quarter of 2012 depending on the testing. Well, let’s just hope that RIM susccess in coding the BES for QNX based device and also upgrade the processor to a dual core one.
